East Grinstead Lib Dems are fielding two outstanding candidates for the local elections on 2nd May.

Dr Fathi Tarada is standing as councillor in the Baldwins Ward in East Grinstead. Fathi is qualified in engineering, management and law, and runs a local consultancy business. Prior to his current position, Fathi acted as a director of major infrastructure design in the UK. A graduate of the University of Sussex, he has lived in East Grinstead for the past fourteen years and was a parent governor at St Mary's School. Fathi supports local charities including the Eve Appeal, which raises money to fight ovarian cancer. He is married with two children, both of whom have grown up in East Grinstead.

James Thompson is standing as a councillor in the Worsted / Ashurst Wood wards. James has worked in local government and has been campaigning on community issues for more than 15 years. He has in-depth knowledge of how the resources available to local authorities can enhance communities. He has seen how dedicated public servants can make a positive difference to people's lives. As a Housing Officer working with homeless families, James understands the need for improving access to affordable housing without resorting to the overdevelopment of our area. As a resident in the ward, James finds it's a real privilege to live here. We need to safeguard our future and make a change for the better.
